The game itself didn't fail to match expectations and gave EA Games its first taste of true Hollywood blockbuster-style hits, propelling the now uber-publisher firmly into the big time. This was to be something special - exciting and profound at the same time. There it was, the opening 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan in completely playable form, unsanitised, unfettered and uncensored.
